JazzFest Concert

The Choir is performing on Sunday June 21 (Father’s Day) in Beacon Hill Park, for the TD International Jazz Festival 3:00 pm Cameron Bandshell. Beautiful setting.Free admission. See you there!.

Our SOLD OUT Spring concert was on Saturday, April 25. What a night!
We titled it MotownSoul & Friends. Due to popular demand, we’ll do it again in 2027.

“Friends” is more than a word. It refers to the extended family of Rhythm n’ Blues, from Gospel and Juke Joints to your favourite Spotify playlist — all connected, like good neighbours. We become Friends in this amazing choir, singing the great songs of the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin. You know those songs. They’re the ones you crank up on your speakers in the house and in your car.

Sing with Us

We bring singers of all ages and walks of life together. No audition is necessary.

We rehearse on Tuesdays in a lovely little church at 111 Superior Street across from Fisherman’s Wharf in James Bay. If you’d like to join our wonderful community, send us an email, or just drop in to one of our Workshops or Rehearsals and check us out. Drop-in fees for Rehearsals with Checo are $15.00, and Workshops are $10.00. College students get a 50% discount. Check-in starts at 5:30 pm, and we sing from 6:00 till 8:00.

Meet Our Director, Checo Tohomaso

Our enthusiastic director, Checo Tohomaso, has performed all around the world with notable performers like Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, and the Commodores

After his performance at Expo ’86, Checo decided to settle in Vancouver, BC. He now travels back and forth to Victoria to bring that authentic Motown sound to our choir.
